I’ve had my Droid X for about a month now, and I like it a lot.  I’d recommend it to anyone that wants to carry a small computer around with them.  Not as robust as a computer, but can do so much more than the old Blackberry’s that Verizon had last time I needed to upgrade my phone.

I bought my phone at Best Buy, and the phone was a lemon.  It was fine for about a week, but then the video function got terribly distorted.   Since it was within the first month, they took it back and got me a new one.  I wasn’t angry about this so much,. even though it cost me a lot of time at the store and also re-setting up my phone, which takes a long time.  I had many apps, including purchased ones, that all needed to be reset.

I got my new phone, and set it up that night, furiously entering in info until I went to sleep.  That was all fine, until the next day, when I realized that they put the wrong phone number onto my phone!  I brought the phone back that day and spent another 3 hours in the store and, for some unkown reason, all of the info I entered the day before was gone.

I have found the Best Buy staff is not knowledgeable enough about the phones to do a good job in support.  They basically said I should take it to Verizon.  I wished I had originally gone there.

Because it was 100% error on the part of Best Buy,  I asked the phone manager for a substantial discount on a bluetooth for the phone.  I still love the phone, just hate the extra 10 hours I had to put in waiting and resetting the phone up.   He said he could do 20% off.  I told him I already had the standard coupon they send you after you buy the phone for 20% off.  He was basically offering me nothing.  I left feeling very dissatisfied and won’t be making any large purchases at Best Buy in the future.

My philosophy is you should pay for your mistakes.  Best Buy is not willing to do this and they have lost a customer as a result.
