Saturday was an especially nice August day. It was uncharacteristically cool and not humid. Rumor has it though that Monday will see a return to the hot and humid weather that defines summers on Long Island.
We started the day at the house, searching for nice butterflies and other bugs or critters that don’t mind having their photos taken. We weren’t terribly lucky on that front, but we got some pictures.

Then it was off to Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park and Beach. Truly a nice place. We tried our hand at fishing and were denied again. I wonder if we’ll ever catch anything besides seaweed and garbage. We went with my pal Danny boy and his beautiful family and we had a great time. Here are some pics:
