Clay Pitts/William J. Byrne Park is a decent place to go if you are in the community.  As of the summer of 2009, there is a new playground with two areas, one for younger and one for older kids to play on.  The floor of the playground area is very flexible and feels like it can absorb falls well.

The park has 3 tennis courts that are used on a first come first serve basis.  We had some good fun trying to play, although I wouldn’t call it actual tennis.  Adjacent to the tennis courts is an enclosed utility area that is great for roller blading and roller/street hockey. I played there as a youth adn kids are still going there to play the great sport of hockey.

Behind the tennis courts and utility court are some baseball/softball fields.  This park has changed a lot over the years and is a personal favorite because of it’s proximity to my house and the amount of people that use it.

I left the house to see if any stores were open around 1 PM today (August 28th, 2011) and to see what damage there was in my neighborhood.
