Asharoken is a favorite haunt of mine because it is close to home. I remember many nights when I had disposable time, going down with my friends to the beach to watch the sunset and hang out. It offers some great views and some excellent sunsets. My biggest problem with the sunsets are that the sand flies always come out when I want to take some photos. I smartened up though and now carry bug spray in my car. You should too.
This is definitely a beach I will be revisiting
